Hear Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer speak about his recent interactive installations in public spaces. These include Voz Alta, a memorial for the Tlatelolco student Massacre in Mexico City, Levels of Nothingness, a performance for the 50th anniversary of the Guggenheim Museum in NYC and Vectorial Elevation, a project restaged for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Inspired by phantasmagoria, carnival and animatronics, his light and shadow works are “antimonuments for alien agency”.

Founded in 1993 by the NSW Ministry for the Arts, the Lloyd Rees Lecture invites distinguished figures in the arts and architecture to consider issues in architecture and urban design for Sydney, for Australia and Internationally.
