The Powerhouse Museum has joined forces with socially responsible designers to solve some of society’s most pressing problems. During Sydney Design, three design teams will display their solutions in a 3 x 3 x 3 metre space. You will be able to interact with their design solutions covering  health, safety and urban living.

Team 1 – Health: Housing
The Housing for Health team is made up of architect and co-director of Healthabitat, Paul Pholeros, with designer, Heleana Genaus and the University of NSW, Faculty of the Built Environment. Healthabitat is dedicated to improving the living environment and health of Indigenous people.

Team 2 – SafetyEmergency Shelter
The Shelter team consists of architects Jun Sakaguchi and Jeremy Bishop, with support from Nettleton Tribe architectsL U Simon Builders and Redwood Projects. Jun organises the regular charity event Emergency Shelter Exhibition to raise money for relief-work after the devastating 2011 earthquake in Japan.

Team 3 – Community: Transportable Work-shed
With a focus on community, industrial designer Tasman Munro will present Wildebeest WorkshopThis pop-up, multi-purpose transportable workshop is like no other – it’s a portable men’s shed and a fantastic solution to community building.
