Australian Stone Architectural Awards Entry 2012

Awards submitted for the fourth round of the above awards will be published in Discovering Stone magazine; editions DS20 (September), DS21 (March 2012) and DS22 (September 2012).

Depending on the scope of each project and the availability of suitable high resolution digital images, entries will appear as single or double page entries. There is no charge for entry. Photography (if required) will be charged at cost.

The fourth round will also include two new categories (Imported Stone Projects).

The categories are:

Australian Stone

• Best Commercial Project
• Best Residential Project
• Best Civic Project
• Best Sculpture/Public Art
• Premier Award

Imported Stone

• Best Commercial Project
• Best Residential Project

The Australian Institute of Architects supplied the entry criteria in consultation with ASAA:

• Use of natural stone as a prime component of the project
• An architect must be involved in the overall design
• The project must have been completed after June 30, 2009
• Entry must be instigated by the architect, stone producer, supplier, builder, designer or installer
• The project must display good design values
• The adjudication process to be conducted by a panel of AIA members

Entry requirements:

1. A minimum of 2 high resolution (300 dpi or better) images
2. Details of architectural practice/name of architect
3. Name of stone supplier
4. Name of stone
5. Designer (if involved)
6. Builder (if involved)
7. Stonemason or team of installers
8. Brief description of overall project including stone works and principal reason why natural stone was used

A proof of the award entry will be provided. Awards are presented at a Gala Dinner once sufficient entries are received.
