SAW 03 HARBOURINGS
Getting beyond the postcard view of the city and its two shimmering icons, “Harbourings” reveals Sydney at her rawest and most spectacular, her most self-conscious and most corrupt.
The route is diverse, spectacular and full of surprising contemporary projects in and amongst the gritty industrial history of the western Rocks. We will pluck out recent projects by Sam Marshall, Ed Lippmann, young guns Terroir as well as the equally loathed and loved precast concrete Sirius building.
Our focus will be the recently remodelled family of Finger Wharves at Walsh Bay, once the largest timber structures in the world and romantic symbols of Sydney’s maritime history.
Meet in the foyer.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to tour departure.
