'Much Lead' photograph by Claire McCaughan & Felicity Gartelmann

Claire McCaughan & Felicity Gartelmann of Sam Crawford Architects are installing Much Lead at Object Gallery in October and they need your pencils!

Much Lead is inspired by the old school pencil and they are looking for designers, artists, makers, tradespeople, school children (anyone!) to donate pencils for the installation. The pencils will then be suspended to create a huge canopy of colour.

Claire & Felicity have predicted we will need 3000 pencils (wow). On their blog you can check out the gems they have already received, including a wedding anniversary pencil from Megan Morton, sail-makers pencils, kid’s pencils, antique pencils and even someone’s entire pencil collection from uni.

To join the pencil frenzy simply download the tag on the blog, fill in out and post to them @ Level 5, Wentworth Ave, Surry Hills 2010 by August 31st. Alternatively they can provide you with a collection box & tags for your local pub/cafe/studio/trendy hangout.
