Super Sydney Colloquium

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of the Sydney Opera House and to further debate on metropolitan issues, Super Sydney and the Sydney Opera House are presenting a colloquium on the topic:

The Opera House Effect...It is 40 years since the inauguration of this transformational icon. How do we value it? What have we learned from it? Could we do it again?

In Super Sydney Conversations 2012, Sydneysiders told what they valued the most in Sydney.  These are the landscape and the water and the places where we gather together and share culture. The Sydney Opera House of course, is where all these values come together in the form of a magnificent piece of architecture. It is no wonder that it symbolises Sydney. That it has become synonymous with Sydney’s identity.

A panel of distinguished guests will discuss the economic, symbolic, cultural and evolving power the Sydney Opera House and will explore the potential and the likelihood of similar projects.

Super Sydney Imaginings 2013, invites Sydneysiders to propose transformational projects for their area. All submissions can be seen at supersydney.org
40 selected ideas will be displayed at the colloquium to stimulate discussion.

This discussion is open to all comers but as numbers are strictly limited please reserve your seat here.
