Art comes face-to-face with architecture in Vision in Motion, a project by the renowned artist Narelle Jubelin, which celebrates the University of Sydney’s significant – though often overlooked – modernist architecture.
As part of the Sydney Festival 2012 visitors are invited to take a ‘modernist walk’ across the campus, visiting key sites that Jubelin animates with temporary installations, videos, and her exquisite petit point renditions inspired by the built environment.
The ‘walk’ is self-guided and circular – there is no starting or end point. Follow the yellow dots on the pavement to navigate between the five sites:
Tin Sheds Gallery window, Verge Gallery windows, and Sci-Tech Library windows (visible from the outside, 24 hours per day).
School of Chemistry Building lecture theatre foyers (enter to the side of the main building) and the University Art Gallery. Open: Monday to Friday: 10am – 4pm, Saturday: 1-5pm (January only).
