The Renewable Energy Master Plan

The City of Sydney has developed a new plan to show how the city could shed its reliance on polluting, coal-fired power and make the switch to 100% renewable energy.

The Renewable Energy Master Plan outlines how 100% of the City’s electricity, heating and cooling can come from renewable energy sources by 2030, using renewable electricity and renewable gases.

The plan is the most detailed technical, financial and economic assessment of renewable energy opportunities ever undertaken for Sydney. It demonstrates how all of the city’s electricity, heating and cooling could come from renewable sources, such as solar, wind and energy from waste by 2030.

The master plan is based on world renewable energy best practice, what other advanced economies are doing to overcome the intermittency of renewable energy and the energy policies needed to achieve a 100% non-intermittent renewable energy system.
