Bays Precinct

Professor Stephen Cairns of Future Cities Laboratory, KCAP, ETH Singapore, will reflect broadly on the principles of the ‘open-city’ and how these might apply to urban renewal projects. He will outline the principles underlying the master planning and delivery of Hamburg’s Hafencity, and reflect on new approaches to planning that are emerging.

MC Siobhan Toohill will discuss the application of these ideas to the Bays Precinct and urban renewal in general with a local expert panel including University of Sydney Associate Professor Rod Simpson, Professor Jane Marceau, and consultation and engagement expert Lucy Cole-Edelstein.
